me
i don’t mind: -having a bunch of unfinished projects lying around: i enjoy always being able to pick something up and working on it. -listening to strange new music -a bird’s nest of a room (everything where it fits.  not neat, but functional) -finding excitement in clothing that’s not wool and bonding over this with other’s with the alergy -having a disease -staying...

thank full
a queue for thanking that is full with names. names that i don’t know of those that stop to smile with kind eyes as they then rush to meet their lives, names that i have to consciously remember, pulling from my short-term memory, but whose persons treat me as though we will know each other forever, and of course those names i see in my sleep and dreams.  living on another planet, in a...

days like this
I am not here for best friends or loves, I am here to work. And work for me is to feel pain. Every attempt at haggling my heart away, Every loss, every moment of melancholy Is being collected, stored for future use. It is my profession to loose all that I look forward to, And as art is life My life is tragedy.   I have chosen this. For as an apparent masochist, I’d be bored With the safe life of...

the sky has dandriff
i still don’t understand the large white clumps that keep falling into the ever-bright light outside my window.  falling, faster and faster as the night wears on, my eyelids struggle to stay open, and my words become more blurred.  yet it keeps falling, bright white streaks flying like popcorn into the utter darkness.

i bleed words
to loose with uncertainty is the worst kind of pain.  for there is a comfort in knowing at least that you are in the eye of misery, and are eventually going to break free, once the whirlwind of chaos settles down as a new routine develops. but to loose without knowing.  to still believe in something, unsure of whether it’s going to disappear in the morning or if it is already gone, that is...

It’s strange to not be able tell whether you are chasing, being chased, or hiding. Whether I am feared or under a siege.  So I eat my breakfast of poached eggs (actually graham crackers and leftover fruit), waiting to hear my water class (a reused plastic water bottle) start clinking against the large wooden table (my lap) as an earthquake charges.  I sit listening for a battle cry, unsure...

Click here for the full version of the story. “THE BOY WITH HIS HEART ON HIS SLEEVE AND THE GIRL WHO NEVER TRIED TO FIX HIM” by Max Andrew Dubinsky I was born with my heart on my sleeve. When the doctor handed me over to my mother he told her to be careful. “He’s fragile,” he said. Mom cried when she held me, overjoyed at the prospect of raising a son who would be...

the day
the light of a flame burning in the nearly-dead of the night.   Disconcerned by other lights, which cancel but provide Support and sureness hidden in insecurity And doubt of a magnetic composition and curiosity of what remains when everything has been cleared away vanquished into the dark skies released into the fright and mystery, allowed to transform and become what may be possible if...

sunshine flowers
i have a bouquet of flowers smiling at me from my desk.  yellow and orange, they greet me when i sit and attempt to clean.  they bring the outside world into my once-stale environment, reminding me to take a moment to smile and find what’s good in the world. i think they are wonderful

i see now why friends are generally not emotionally treated as family.  it’s too painful to assume that someone you like more than anyone will always be in your life.  the pain of loosing that is too great.  that mixed with anger of your own stupidity is enough to make you curl up on your bed with a heating pad, and just lie there, listening to the weepies if you can muster the energy. and...

weather post-cast of yesterday
Plan to have woken up to clear skies and confusing splashes a rain.  Later in the day look for on bits of snow, and then sunshine prominent enough to make you close your blinds so as to prevent sunburns.  This will be interrupted, however, with falling hale, snow, and then hale some more.  Overall, a climatic and climactic send-off to October.
